Welcome to the DPG LIBRARY
With so much to learn and remember about photography, with both camera work and later editing, our minds may sometimes resemble the jumble above! How can I do that? Where did I see it? Who can help me?
This Library has two objectives - to refresh and to learn new skills.
We hope the library will build to enable you to find that reference to a previous demonstration or tuition session which you know you want to use in your editing, but have forgotten the 'how to'. Or to find a link to an on-line session that will bring it all back.
For those who may have recently joined the DPG, we hope it will enable you to learn new skills that may have been demonstrated at a previous meeting, so won't be re-appearing in the near future.
The content of the Library will grow as members request and if needed. If there is something you'd like to see added, e-mail [email protected] and we'll see what we can do. New additions to the Library this month are highlighted in this colour.
Divided into 5 sections for easier access, each pdf will open in a new window:

SOFTWARE EDITING
It is not practical to suggest lessons or links to every photo editing software programme so we have concentrated on the desktop version of 'Affinity Photo' as a majority of our members have it and it represents excellent value for money given its comprehensive abilities.
Our first pdf has links to the official 'Affinity Photo' desktop video tutorials, well over 100 of them, split into 7 different sections.
It also links to the 'Affinity Revolution' YouTube site which also hosts many tutorials for beginners onward: affinity_photo_tutorials.pdf
If you'd like the Ally Anderson '10 Steps to Amazing Photos' in e-book form, e-mail [email protected] and we'll send you a pdf copy via 'WeTransfer'. It is especially good at explaining adjustment layers and how to apply them selectively.
Next, a collection of pdf's created for the DPG by Tony Cummins which have featured in previous meetings -
First, a simple to follow guide to the often believed complicated process of HDR (high dynamic range): hdr_example.pdf
Now, how to create a montage: railway_montage.pdf
If you'd like a copy of the 'textures' Tony used in this tutorial, e-mail him here: Tony Cummins <[email protected]>

Tony's tutorial on how he achieved his 'Funghi with Death Mask' pic is here: fungi_with_texture.pdf
His 'Working with Textures' is here: textured_image__v.2_.pdf

And the templates needed to implement those techniques: triptych_templates.zip
